Session Description
Universal design is a set of principles and practices focused on creating inclusive spaces, products and experiences that work for broad groups of people. In this session we will explore what universal design means and why it matters in the public sector to improve programs, physical environments, digital services, and community engagement. Participants can expect to dig into real world examples and discuss challenges unique to government services.

Presenter Information
Jennifer Phillips focuses on community engagement and human-centered design practices within the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. Before joining state service, she spent most of her career in nonprofit healthcare specializing in continuous improvement and organizational communications.
