Session Description

During this fireside chat you will hear about why improving the customer experience is so important. Jesse and Tamieca will dive into what is being done in Washington State government and what is going on around the country.

About the Presenters

Tamieca Hamlin is a retired federal executive and consultant with over 25 years of experience advancing customer experience, digital transformation, and service delivery across government and industry. She served as the Deputy Chief Customer Experience Officer at USDA, where she co-led enterprise CX transformation, the USDA/GSA CX Centers of Excellence, and cross-government initiatives focused on reducing burden on customers.

Widely regarded as a national thought leader and trusted connector, Tamieca is recognized for bridging strategy and execution—helping agencies, vendors, and partners deliver measurable outcomes that improve people’s lives. She is also a two-time Service-to-the-Citizen Award recipient and a featured leader in multiple industry analyses.

Jesse Jones is the Director of Your Washington, the Washington State agency tasked with leading the effort to improve services provided by Washington State agencies.  Jesse has a long history of consumer advocacy.

Jesse is a seasoned journalist and consumer advocate known for his rigorous investigative reporting throughout Washington State. Originally from Tacoma, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Film & Television Production from Montana State University.

Over the years, Jesse has worked in investigative reporting roles in Baltimore (WMAR-TV) and Cincinnati (WLWT-TV), where his stories often held big businesses and institutions to account.

In 2005 he joined KING 5, where his popular “Get Jesse” segment helped people with problems involving bad businesses, contracting issues, and consumer rights.

He moved to KIRO 7 in 2014 as a Consumer Investigator and continued his work exposing unfair business practices, hidden fees, and scams—using investigative tools and persistent journalism to create real impact.

Among his recognitions, Jesse has received multiple Emmy Awards, been honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Northwest), and in 2024 was inducted into their Silver Circle in recognition of 25+ years of service in television news.

Outside of journalism, Jesse is married to his wife Kim, and they have a daughter named Cydney. He remains connected to his roots in Tacoma and committed to helping people cut through red tape, spot injustice, and get help when they need it most.
